*New for 2025: The 4 NFL games on Thanksgiving & Black Friday will be considered an independent contest week. You must have at least 1 team available for selection during this contest week or you will be eliminated from the contest.
Teams playing on Thanksgiving & Black Friday: Baltimore Ravens, Chicago Bears, Cincinnati Bengals, Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles.
Surviving players will then need to pick a team for the contest period of Sunday, November 30th, and Monday, December 1st.
The Survivor Contest
- BetOnline’s $150,000 2nd Chance NFL Survivor Contest begins Week 5 of the 2025 NFL Season and continues through Week 18; the postseason is not included.
- Registration opens on Tuesday, September 16th, 2025 and closes on Monday, October 6th, 2025 at 8:05 pm ET. Note: If you register for the contest on Sunday, October 5th or Monday, October 6th, only games on the Week 5 schedule that have not started will be available for selection.
- Contestants must have a valid BetOnline account to register for the Survivor Contest.
- Contestants can participate in the Survivor Contest by purchasing at least one entry at $30 per entry.
- Contestants can enter the $150,000 2nd Chance Survivor Contest up to 25 times. Additional entries are available at a discounted rate:
- All entry purchases are deducted from your BetOnline Sportsbook balance.
- If you do not purchase all 25 entries, you can come back and purchase more entries at any time until the deadline – Monday, October 6th at 8:05 pm ET.
- Registration for the Survivor Contest is only available online. You cannot register via phone, chat or email.
- All sales are final. There are no refunds.
- The 2025 NFL season must run at least 10 weeks for the contest to be considered official.
- If the NFL season does not run at least 10 weeks, entry fees will be refunded.
- If the NFL season is not completed as scheduled but lasts 10 weeks or more, all remaining entries will split the prize money.
- If the NFL season is suspended (but not canceled), the contests will be suspended until the season resumes. If 90 days pass without the season resuming, entry fees will either be refunded or prizes will be awarded based on the amount of weeks played.
- Any reasonable suspicion of fraud or otherwise dishonest conduct on behalf of an entrant may result in disqualification of that entrant from the contest without refund.
- BetOnline reserves the right to modify the rules of this contest without notice.
How to Play
- Contestants must select one team to win its game outright each week of the NFL Regular Season. Point spreads are irrelevant.
- If the team you select wins, your entry remains alive and you select a team for the following week.
- If the team you select loses or ties, your entry is eliminated.
- Once you select a team for a week, that team is not available for selection for the remainder of the contest.
- The contestant(s) that have entries remain alive, without selecting a losing team, is the $150,000 2nd Chance Survivor Contest winner.
- The contest ends on Week 18 of the 2025 NFL season, or when there is only one contestant remaining; whichever comes first. i.e.: If three contestants remain in Week 15 and two contestants select losing teams, the remaining contestant is declared the winner.
- If multiple contestants remain alive after Week 18, they will split the $150,000 evenly.
- If a game is canceled or postponed for any reason and the game is not played before the following Wednesday, both teams scheduled to play in that game will be graded as losers. If you selected either of those teams you will be eliminated from the contest; however, your buy-in will be refunded.
- For contest purposes, the Thanksgiving Day + Black Friday NFL games will be an additional, independent contest week. The remaining 14 contest weeks will correspond with the NFL regular season schedule.
- The Thanksgiving Day + Black Friday contest week is defined as games scheduled to be played on Thursday, November 27th, and Friday, November 28th, 2025. Thus, an entrant would need to select from the teams: Baltimore Ravens, Chicago Bears, Cincinnati Bengals, Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs or Philadelphia Eagles.
- At the end of every week, all Surviving entries will be awarded 10 Free Spins in a randomly selected Casino game.
- Free Spins will be credited by 6:00 pm ET on Wednesday. Check your Casino Bonus Wallet to find your spins and the qualifying game.
- The maximum win amount from Free Spins is $100.
- The Free Spins will expire 7 days after they are issued.
Making Contest Selections
- To make your weekly pick, simply select the team you think will win its game outright.
- Each game locks at its associated kickoff time.
- Once a pick is made, the selection may be changed at any time until the game locks. At this time, the selection is confirmed and may not be changed.
- You must submit picks for the current contest week before 8:15 pm ET on Monday night.
- If you do not select a team by this time, your entry will be graded as a loss and is eliminated from the contest.
- If a team is not available for selection this indicates the game has already locked, the team has been selected in a previous week or the team is on a ‘Bye’ week.
- If there is a ‘W6’ next to a team, this indicates you used this team Week 6 and it is no longer available for selection.
- Once you select a team, a confirmation will appear on your screen informing you that your selected was saved successfully.
- If you still have additional entries, keep repeating the procedure until you have submitted your picks for each entry.
- Selecting an entry will automatically load the matchups for the current NFL week.
$150,000 Guaranteed Prize Pool
- The 2nd Chance Survivor Contest features an accumulating prize, starting with a guaranteed prize of $150,000.
- If the total entry fee amount exceeds $150,000, the additional funds will be added to the final prize.
- Prize money is paid as a cash prize with no rollover requirements.
- Prize money is credited to contestant’s BetOnline accounts within 5 days after completion of the contest.
- Prizes are non-transferable.
