Where can I bet on Sports in Delaware?
In Delaware, individuals above the age of 21 are permitted to place single-game wagers on sports events as per state law. While online sportsbooks are not yet available onshore they are available offshore.
Following the Supreme Court’s repeal of PASPA, the federal ban on sports betting, Delaware became the first state, aside from Nevada, to permit legal sports betting. The state already had an exemption, and hence, no further legislative action was required.
Prior to the implementation of PASPA, Delaware already had legal sports betting options, but these were limited to sports parlay bets available via lottery-run terminals. A 2009 law allowed the state’s lottery to provide an enhanced version of parlay games, but federal law prevented it. The Supreme Court’s May 2018 decision repealed the US federal ban on sports betting, changing the scenario in Delaware.
The sports betting law in Delaware mandates that all onshore sports wagers be placed in person. The only available outlet for mobile wagering are offshore sportsbooks.
Are Offshore Sportsbooks Available in Delaware?
Yes, there are many reasons to make offshore wagering part of your entertainment. Offshore sportsbooks allow you to wager from home on your phone or computer. If you leave the state you will not need to sign up for a new account because offshore wagering is available all across the USA with just one account.
